What a good handover looks like

A stack of checklists, the top one fully ticked

The last week of a project decides whether the results last. A good handover leaves the team able to keep going without us, and it is planned from the first day rather than squeezed in at the end.

Three things we never skip

  • A short written summary of what changed and why
  • Checklists for the tasks that come back every month
  • One walkthrough with everyone who will maintain the work

None of it is complicated. It simply has to be done, and done while the details are still fresh.
