Why we score before we fix

Five horizontal bars showing different scores

It is tempting to start fixing the first problem you see. We score every area first, because the first problem you see is rarely the one that matters most.

A score turns an opinion into something a whole team can look at and agree on. It also gives you a baseline, so progress shows up as a number rather than a feeling.

Then we sort by impact

Once everything is measured, the order of work follows from the gaps between target and current score, not from how easy a fix happens to be.
